Hello guys,

Just wondering if anyone has heard about the rider who had what sounds like a very nasty accident on the NEW DENOM road which I beleave leads to the A40 ( or the M4... )

My sister said it that from what she could see, a car pulled out of a petrol station, and the biker hit the side of the car.... She said it was like that look, look and look again for bikers advert..

Anyone know anything? Dosnt sound to good for him lough, Its a very tempting road to speed on so It wouldnt surprise me if he was speeding. Bout time they put a speed camera on there instead of just the painted lines on the road and no camera...

He said the bike may have been speeding. if a camera was installed then the biker may have been going slower and may have been able to stop intime....however, the car driver may not have looked and there was probably nothing the biker could have done.....just a thought...

It annoys me that people often assume the biker was speeding when they are involved in accidents. I would expect this from Mr and Mrs Tory surburbia but not from people from a bike forum.

Hope the rider is OK Confused

I new that some1 was gona say this, thats why I said its a road which is VERY tempting to speed on, double lane, very long, looks like you can see for miles if sitting at a junction, not to mention its a bit more easyer to speed on 40mph having just been doing 70mph for a long period of time( coming off the motorway ).

And also a speed camera may not make the driver look properly, but if the guy was speeding then maybe it would of gave him enough time, or atleast not make the accident as serious as it was, but I didnt see it so for all I know he was doing 20mph.

Was it Oxford road ( from Beaconsfield to Uxbridge )

I don't think there is a New Denham road.

What time of day did it happen?

TBH it is a blinding bit of road for opening it up, if it is where I think it is.

Filled up at the petrol station there this morning at about 8:00.

Its got 2 garages, texico and some other one, and theres a McDonalds, it happend in the mourning. I think it is the same road your on about.

There are a few junctions on that road but its long and straight and ive always been tempted to just let it rip there coming back off the motorway

If you're speeding excessively and hit another road user then you have to take most of the responsibility.
Espeshialy, if you are driving a motorcycle the fundamental safety rule is make sure you drive at a safe speed which allows you to stop safely in an emergency.

Falling off coz of diesel spills, ice etc is excepted. (Almost.)

But it is pointless to speculate that the rider was in fact overspeeding 'you/we' have no accurate means of determining his speed before the incident.

And I agree with Mrs Kickstart.

I also hope everyone involved is not seriously injured.

Yea, Hopefully, just that my sister said he was being resusitated, but this may of just been a safety procedure, I know they was doing that on a Formula 1 driver in a big crash and he was perfectly ok.

Thumbs Up

Roadside resusitation is bad, isn't it?

We all hope that rider is ok, usually the cardriver is most of the time 99.9% at fault, he just musn't have looked properly before pulling out on biker.

Old TV add, Think once, Think twice, Think Bike!!!, Anybody remember that one?

I fully agree with you on this, just wasn't looking, He wouldn't pull out on a 40 foot Shell fuel tanker, (maybe that's what we all should be driving instead?) Twisted Evil

Im not saying that the driver didnt look, im saying that if the biker was going at a safer speed ( but like I said earlyer I dont know anything about his speed ) then maybe he can press the brakes and actually beable to stop in time. Or beable to take avoidence as he has a lil bit more time to think.

And dont forget the fact that if you do have a crash into the side of a car then if your going slower then normally it wouldnt do as much damage.
