umm engine degreaser?

stinky but works very well (because thats what its designed to do), just dont get it on anything rubber

Gunk is what i use, £5 should buy you a big load of it, enough to do several engines.

Best stuff for cleaning bikes is brake cleaner (NOT brake fluid).
Buy it in a big can from an automotive factors and get a spray bottle (maybe get one thrown in free, like the ones used to spray plants).

You can buy spray cans of the stuff but that works out expensive. Big can, small spray bottle is the way to go.

Then just spray on and wipe off. The stuff evaporates without leaving any residue and you can use it to clean bodywork, seats, just about anything on a bike.

Should help clean up an engine. It shifts the stuff they use when they ship brake discs.

HTH Thumbs Up

I found paraffin was pretty good at removing caked on crap when I did my head gasket.

Thumbs Up
