I know this is probably going to be abused as spam pretty soon...

But considering ive been lobbying for a section here for god knows how long, ima check this one out Thumbs Up

Edit: Never mind, theres only him as a member.

Tell ya what, come back when youve got 20+ members and try again?

+ Sort out your registration - The link sent in emails to confirm / activate your account dont work.

Sigh* Dont people test things before they throw them out for the public any more?

if i started a forum, i would fill it with loads of posts just to give visitors something to read. oh and also because i like the sound of my own voice so to speak.

Why not encourage people to use a local regional section on here?

I know boundries are a bit vague, but I'm sure you can get a local 'gang' of some kind together.

i think its more about him being able to set up a forum and have people visit it than acutally have a little online local community.

i could be wrong.

i used to have www.colinwall.co.uk as a website but there was nothing on it and not much point to it i just did it because i could

i think this forum of his is similar

if im wrong let this new guy join the midlands section, midlands section leader ! and let him join the southern one too, after all im in the wales section cos i go there occasionally

As GearboxGeezer said, I have put my hard earned cash and time setting up this forum for the only reason to get local bikes in Cambridgeshire together in a central point to chat, exchange tips and ideas and arrange meetings and rideouts. There are lots of county based forums and I just thought this would be a good addition. It is not obviously going to be on such a grand scale as this one, ours is just our local forum. I appreciate some of the setup problems, I didn't realise they were there, they worked ok from our development machine, so thanks for pointing those out.

Regards

Richard

Ok thats cool.

I believe what Colin is saying however - The amount of sites i have made / tried to promote because its "My" site, you know...

How ever - If you get a decnt amount of members / posts on there and enough interest then it might be decent.

How ever at the minute im not interested in reading "Welcome" posts and seeing lots of 0's.

But ill make a post now to show im not blowing it away straight off.

You never know, itll probably dissapear in a few weeks - But on the other hand, you could be thanking me for giving your site a chance and making it a huge success in 3 months time.

At least you have a decent URL.

BTW - Might find a little splash page might set you up for a bit more interest - Set it apart from other lame forum only places.

( PS : I can do you a splash page Wink )

I thought you could Method Wink

I would seriously like this to take off. I myself love my motorcycling, but it would be nice to have a forum that we could get together and discuss thing like "Where are we going this weekend."

Us bikers don't always know each other personally, just passing down the road with a little nod, but that doesn't mean that we would not like to go for a ride out with each other.

Anyhoo, thanks Method, see you online.

You'll be lucky.

Sort your fecking registration out allready, it still takes me to a "Page cannot be found" or some such crap when i click the activate link in the email.

Just take it off, i always hate forums that you have to activate Thumbs Down

But i see what your saying, it would be a wicked idea - and unfortunately i suppose i will find myself obliged to help you out Wink

But im not going to keep trying to get my account activated though...

Well, I've set up one of these local community biker forums and we have quite a few members, albeit we just moved to a new forum area and only 20 people have registered so far, but there are over 100 members somewhere! lol

We are based in the East Midlands and have several organised rideouts and other events, such as meet ups through winter to catch up over a Sunday pub lunch, etc.

Take a look at: Junction27.org.uk and click the big 'Enter Button' half way down the page.

Is this the sort of thing you lot are on about?
