hi everyone, I have just passed my test and got me a kawasaki gpx500s 1996 model.

Now I went to do a little service on it, and went to remove the oil sump plug on side of engine and it just snapped.

Now i managed to get the rest of the thread out but now im stuck as I need my bike for work on tuesday which is when the bike shops open.

what can i do? i have heard that a spark plug can fit in there? will this be safe?

otherwise any other ideas?

thanks in advance.

If you can find something with the same size thread and get it to seal so it doesn't leak oil, then there is no reason why it wont be safe.

The standard plug is just a bolt with a copper washer afterall. Thumbs Up

Nope, that will be on the bottom of the engine, not the side. Kaw's usually use a 17mm (wrench size) bolt/plug.

Dunno, I've removed loads of em during engine rebuilds without any problem
