When I did my A2 last year in October it cost £350 which was for a 3 day course and the test fee (and included bike hire and all that jazz) I did my theory before which I think is a better idea. I think the companies prices have recently gone up too but would deffinatly recomend them (https://www.freedomridertraining.com)
Good luck, Joe

You cannot book your practical test until you have passed your theory test.

No, what I meant was that some training companies offer to do it in the same package I think, i.e. they organise it but then theres a bit more pressure to pass first time... Sorry for the confusion Very Happy

Unfortunatly, was it you who has just shelled out for the DAS? They are damn expensive but it's a bigger bike and 6 days instead of 3... Good luck with it though, great feeling when you pass Thumbs Up Joe

I booked my A-something a month ago but couldn't make it because I lost my CBT licence.

The booking fee with the DSA cost me 55 pounds - I haven't actually took any training. I'm going to book another test sometime soon.

The theory is a bit under £25, the practical is £55 (though this is apparently about to go up soon). This is what you pay anyway.

Lessons at a the school I'm with currently are (including bike hire) £20/hour on a 125, £25/hour on a DAS bike, which seems to be about average, though most schools will offer intensive 3-5 day courses and/or "guaranteed pass" courses for less than the total number of lessons would be.

If you're looking at 2 practice hours, I'll assume you have some experience already and are just looking for pointers to pass, in which case tests plus bike hire for an A2 license, should be about:

- £25 theory
- £55 practical
- £40 two hours practice
- £40 hire for test (including some time before the test, and time for the instructor to take you there and back)

(in all, about £160)

This is assuming you have a CBT and (at least roughly) know what you're doing.

Yeah he was OK really. I only did my CBT with him (becasue it had run out), then the next two days I was out with Charlie. He was a good bloke, even bought me some breakfast on the day of my test. I thought they were pretty good, recommended.

Though I still have no idea what the guy with the grey hair and glasses actually does, Thinking.

Haha, was that the older man? I had him on my first day, I got quite lucky, it was just me and him and had a nice ride around. I would deffinatly recommend them every time, miles better than Alpha Rider Training who I did my CBT with
