To be honest mate. 1400 gets you a lot of laptop Personaly I'd go for a Sony Vaio as they look shit hot, otherwise a good IBM Thinkpad but I would say that working for IBM. ____________________ If you dont like the way that I ride.......Stop trying to keep up!!! |

Personal experience says HP/Compaq for build quality and performance. If size/weight is an issue, then Toshiba do some slick units.
Vaio's do look sexy, but they are way over priced for what they are. ____________________ Like a Yorkie - I'm not for the girls |

Vaio! Gets my vote if you have £1400 to play with. It's been a while since I dealt with laptops, but the Sony's were always the top choice. Expensive to fix, but very reliable and very sought after. ____________________ https://www.bikepics.com/members/fuzzbcf/

i'd go for an IBM thinkpad as well
