I've made a post on this in the midlands area, it seems like not many people are aware of the date of this years run.

I will be there, will I be on my own??? Shocked or is anyone else coming.

did anyone see this in the local paper??

WARDEN GOES TO WORK ON AN EGG

09:30 - 29 March 2006

Sir, - On March 26 I attended the Star Bikers Egg Run, as I have done for the past 25 years. As my family and I waited at the King's Hall for the bikes to arrive, you can imagine my surprise when I spotted a parking warden wandering around the car park checking the cars and bikes already there. When questioned, the warden said that if the bikes were parked in a bay they would be ticketed. I went to fetch one of the organisers and we both explained to the warden what was happening and did he really want to ticket hundreds of bikes? After consultation with his superiors via radio, the decision was made to "let the bikes off". I understand that everyone has a job to do but was it really necessary to send a warden to what is, after all, a charity event? I personally would not have liked to have had to explain to any of the bikers that yes, they can help raise thousands for charity but their bikes might get a ticket in the process.

I know we had a lot of flack on the day because of the wardens hanging around like heavy wallpaper. It certainly put a lot of people off parking up & going into the hall!!

anyone who cares to write in to the local Council & complain can do so by writing to
