Yes, and rings and cylinder gasket by the sound of it.
Have you trickle charged the battery???
Choke cables stuck by the sounds of it also.

Is there anyway of keepin it tickin over its only done 9000m (change the idle revs) as im tryin to sell it .Im absolutely broke(student).
How difficult is a top end rebuild i noticed swampy was talkin about puttin up a guide, cant find it though. How much would the parts mentioned by puremagic cost?
One last Q my honda dealer in a rush gave me a BR8ecs plug instead of a BR9ecs does this matter?
Thanks for all the help |
You may be able to get it to tick over, but unless the person buying it is a complete idiot surely they'll want to take it for a test ride? ____________________ '90 TS50 > '04 Senda 125 > '91 ZXR400 > '90 CB-1 > '04 GSX-R1000 > '96 Bandit 600 > '89 ZXR750 H1 > '96 GSX-R750 SRAD > '98 RR-W Fireblade > '98 T595 Daytona > '03 Hornet 900 > '04 Fireblade > '16 GSX-S1000F (x2) > '23 XSR900 |

Have you given it a good thrashing (I can not be held responsible for any damage caused whilst performing this procedure. ) ____________________ If you dont like the way that I ride.......Stop trying to keep up!!! |

Change your plug to a BR9EIX.
These are the best, i have a feeling this will make it better.
Standard piston kit(if i'm not mistaken) is no more than £35.
But you will have to check what size piston you have already.
But change your plug 1st, its expensive but lasts around 6000 miles. About £8 Each.
Then give it a good thrashing(Warm engine up first for 2 miles)
The idling maybe just the idle screw needs adjusting, Warm the engine up then adjust the screw(not sure if its the left/right screw on the carb?) Should be 1500rpm
