hello,
I am about to have to commute 100 miles a day (all duel carriage ways). A car is too slow due to heavy traffic. I used to have a CBR600 5 years ago but have not had a bike since. I am interested in going down the VFR route possibly? for comfort and MPG.
Please would anybody be able to suggest other bikes at all?

Cheers

Non VTEC VFR800 seems to be a solid favorite.

commuteringness? Good word. Very Happy My neighbour has an XJ600, which he uses for courier work. It's s a nice bike which I was considering myself. I do a fair bit of motorway/dual carriageway riding (M11 and A406) on a daily basis and find my CB450 a bit wanting. I'm considering a CB600 or an ER6, or if the pennies will stretch, a Trophy 900.

Divvy. I do 45+ miles a day on my Divvy whilst commuting to work. Cheap as chips (cost me a grand plus the Nexus exhaust) and reliable. if you are doing M-Ways, get an S or if you do get an N, get a screen fitted to deflect some of the wind.

Mind you, my xj600N has been known to do 100 without any additional fairing. 80 is nice and comfy on the big seat.

K.

All I can tell you is my CBF600abs (half fared) is right at home in the city as well as 90mph on the motorway although it must be said I do have a neck like a bull others may not find it so comfortable at motorway speeds for long trips.

I do 30 mile round trip myself and it has never let me down. And it will do one week’s commute of 160 miles on one tank full or about £16 so I can’t fault it there ether. It was also 8000 miles before I had to change the tires and that was with sticky on and not the touring jobbies I have atm.

To top it of you have the option of ABS witch has kept me rubber side down on at least two occasions and is something I would heartily recommend to any one that’s new or returning to biking.

More that telling you my experience I can really help you out but please let us know how you get on.
