I don't hold it at top revs for longer than 5 mins. A 16 mile ride should be about 45 mins on a 50, but assuming there's plenty junctions on your route, you should be fine. I did it all the way to liverpool about 15 miles away.

I've done a 45 mile trip on a 50 full throttle all the way, then 45 miles back. (cost me £4.50 in fuel Laughing ) 16 miles is what a one-way trip to school was for me Shocked

It'll be fine.

i knew because, my bike completely died on the duel carriage way whilst going about 45Mph and it turned out to be a whole in the piston.

I'd done about 20 miles, rarely letting off on my 50, does no harm, thats the only way you can ride 50s.

Warm it up properly first.

Every now and again drop the revs for a while.

Same here, cost price without VAT makes 2t oil so much cheaper Laughing

Stop every so often for a minute or two to give it a rest. My scooter did plenty of 14 mile trips in one go, 35mph screaming.

All went well until the big end decided to go, which resulted in me finding my foot in the side of the scooter before long.
