in my experience, a pressure washer has used less than a regular hose, as it's running for shorter periods of time, a blast of a second or two shifts more muck than a longer hosing down.

We had some guy phone up, ranting that there's a hosepipe ban on, but he's still allowed to jetwash his drive, provided he doesn't wet his car Confused .
He's got a point really.

Well, I washed my bike today and I used a hosepipe. There's no way my bike is going to sit there dirty and me not wash it.

No chance of a drout here.

Where there's loads of reservoirs and they're all full.

The downside... All it has done for the last 2 months is rain and I am not exagerating, I have not been on a run on the bike since January. I only use it to commute and that's fun with the amount of rain we've been having.

I am having to check teletext everyday for weather, just so I can get the kit correct.

I reckon it's only a matter of time before water will be pumped south from the north's large reservoirs like kielder. Rolling Eyes

Why, can the pressure washer suck the water out of the hose faster??? Rolling Eyes .

Get everyone to stop paying for there water for two months and they'd soon find a way of making things better.

yes it can

it has a pump

in the same way that a power shower uses more water than a normal shower

2 things,

1:It has a pump to increase the pressure, not the flow, so now it doesn't suck more water out, it pressurises SOME of the water available to it and fires it out a tiny hole at a high velocity.

2: it uses less in the long run, as it's not on for as long, and can shift more dirt in a much shorter time. If you're running a Pressure weasher for as long as you're using a regular hose, you're using it wrong.

Erm, what's wrong with a bucket and a sponge and some elbow grease?

I've never used a hose to wash me bike.
