hi im degreasing a bike frame its been slow going with break cleaner/degreaser and a cloth/toothbrush

any one got any hints? or tips?

and is it possible to emulate a steam clean

Paraffin works pretty well, I've recently discovered Cillit Bang Green as well.

I've used Cillit Bang on my swingarm, areas of the frame (lube splatter on the cast section), back of the engine cases - it hasn't got lime in it, so seems alu friendly. No problems yet and it's a lot cheaper than 'branded' aerosol degreasers. (My Autoglym ran out, so I decided to give it a go).

Take it down the filling station and give it a hot, soapy pressure wash. THEN start degreasing. Gunk is good.

Having the same problem myself. My hornets chain, sprocket and rear wheel are covered in gunk. Im gonna take it and get it steam cleaned at the garage.

Steam cleaning should remove everything right?

By 'gunk' I was meaning a branded, universal engine degreaser.
