Since I was a kid, my hands have swollen up about once a month or so to the point where it's visible and quite painful, but just recently (6 months or so), there's sometimes like a dull ache in my hands, and I find I actually have to concentrate a bit on what I'm doing when gripping things like a glass or opening a car door.

I've ben reading on the symptoms, but as with most shit on the net, there's conflicting or vague information, and it also seems the case that the majority of people that actually get it are 50+; I'm only 25.

I don't want to go to the doctors, as I have no faith in them.
I was told by two different GP's I just had a slight allergic reaction when my nose was blocked, even though I explained I'd had the preoblem since I was 19 when I was involved in a car crash. Eventually I got referred to a specialist, and turned out my septum had been pushed out of shape and was blocking my nasal passage and needed resetting.

Anyway...

Anybody else have this, know of someone that does? Help?

Thanks.

It might not be the same but a friend of mine has a similar problem, something to do with her circulation to the hands.

Usually gets quite bad in winter, she works at a bar and sometimes has trouble picking glasses up.

Sound like that?

I've got Raynaud's disease.. Is that what Your Gf has Killa?

It's basically very bad circulation. usual symptoms are changes in the colour of your skin due to changes in temperature or sometimes stress. going from pink to red to purple to completely white. (Normally in fingers and toes)

The pain is more of a numb, prickly pin and needles type. Which is aggrevated by say, entering a warm room after being out in the cold, but i have even been known to faint if the changes are drastic! Laughing

Found quite a few websites on it:
https://www.niams.nih.gov/hi/topics/raynaud/ar125fs.htm#4

https://www.surgical-tutor.org.uk/default-home.htm?specialities/general/raynauds.htm~right

The 2nd one has a picture!

Shocked

Yeh, those were both very good pointers.

My hands often go a blue/purple, and are usually freezing cold, and when my hands swell, they turn bright red and they feel like pins and needles times 10.

Helpful. Thumbs Up

Sounds like osteo arthritis, which can be diagnosed as a teenager (my GP thinks I have it)

my toes fingers and knees suffer badly, become inflammed, painful to touch and hard to bend without really trying hard to.

look it up on google.

I'm taking glucosamine supplements for mine and they do help by reducing the inflamation, but joints still get inflamed.

If you don't want to go to a doctor (and therefore have it on your medical records) go to a walk in centre and specify you do not want your doctor notifying of your visit.

If its any consolation, I think I've got Carpal Tunnel Syndrome!

My right wrist is shot to shit. 10 years of guitar playing is taking it's toll!

It hurts to move my hand up, got several layers of that stretchy bandage material to stop the swelling/pain

I'm only 21 Crying or Very sad
