Probably old news, however.

I just got a question from an ebay member that looks like any other except the link to sign in does not take you to ebay.

(I nearly fell for it but when I clicked the link the URL was NOT ebay)

Just a heads up.

Attatched is a screenshot.

I wouldnt post this inane drivel if it wasnt one that nearly got me.

The item that e-mail is reffering too is a pair of BMW M badges which I certainly had nothing to do with.

Yeh Dodsi, thats been around for a while, I normally get - I pay this item if you do not mail me soon to say where it is I shall call the police! Pisses me off the amount of emails I get from scammers pretending they are from ebay. Although I did get caught out once when they were offering my wife Power-Seller which she was expecting, and her account got "broken into" but ebay were quick to suss it. Confused

I can normally sniff them a mile off, but my guard was down, save to say my wife is now a Power-Seller by the legit ebay method Laughing Laughing

There was a similar spoof email sent this morning designed to look like it was from paypal. Was a "win a mini cooper" looked very dodgy to me.

The URL is accessible as https://80.11.57.27/intranet/forum/templates/subSilver/images/wsbleh/ebay/index.html(offsite) and is hosted by 80.11.57.27(refer)

80.11.57.27 = [ LAubervilliers-151-13-20-27.w80-11.abo.wanadoo.fr ]

Edit: It looks like a rooted PHPBB server. I doubt reporting it to ebay or wanadoo would do much good.

Weird...

My bad, still though it looked dodgy, normally paypal only send you links direct to the main page. This email had links to https://email1.paypal.co.uk/u.d?LFTE_rYJcUE-uS=21 though that does forward you to ebay. Just seemed dodgy as I never get email from paypal.
