Watching TV on a TFT monitor...

I looked into this a while back and found one of these boxes:

This box seems to now be redundant as I can't find it anywhere.. they used to be listed on ebay at one point, but I can't find them there any more!!

Basically, there are loads of TV boxes on ebay.. but I want to use my digital freeview box as the tv source rather than a specific tv box.. I also want the PS2 to be plugged into the convertor box too.. most/all of the boxes I've seen do picture in picture too.

Anyone got any idea what box to go for??? not sure if the tv box ones will fully do the trick, I'd imagine they will but means id have to physically unplug the tv box to put the ps2 on, whereas the box pictured above could have both plugged in at same time with a change over switch.

Where do they plug in, USB?

Do they have TV tuners in, or are they just for composite signals?

I watch TV using a TV card on my TFT monitor and it is fine. A proper TV is still much better though, if not just for the fact that you can sit in an arm chair in your living room.

Not to worry.. just got on of these as my mates just bought one and told me it was really good... read a few reviews on ebuyer and it seems pretty decent.. as for DVD's I'll just get the DVD drive working and leave the PS2 in the other room instead of here.

I've got the freecom TV kit, works perfectly, pretty good really...

I just got a DVI cable too and got the 2nd monitor working fine.. but it won't display video on it?? it's really weird?!?! it works fine for programs etc (im on it now) but as soon as I drag the tv screen over I just hear sound and the TV screen bit is black.

I've looked through settings and they seem the same as the 1st monitor which works a-okay..

This 2nd monitor is plugged in via the DVI ports..

Any ideas anyone?? It's a shame because the idea was for the 2nd monitor mostly to be used as the TV..

hmmm. it plays videos fine now from my computer etc.. but won't show the TV.. odd!!

Works a treat. Have an arial running into the back and also my PS2 through it.

Mean's I could junk the portable and the massive wall mount I had in my room and just use a 15" TFT I had sitting spare.

Okay whilst the freecom kit is really good, I've decided it doesn't really do quite what I'm after..

it works perfectly as a TV though.. you can watch TV full screen or in a window, record.. timeshift pause.. etc etc... the kit is brand new, I've used it for half a day but realised I still can't get my PS2 on here!

It's freeview too so you get all the channels Smile
