On my way home from work the engine cut out well from what i think the electrics cut out, as the eingine did not chugg or make and sound or problem is just stopped as i was going along.
At first i thought all the electrics were not working but the brake light was working though indicators and the starter would not work, also noticed the meutral light was not working.
I checked the battery which seems fines also fuses are ok, also i tested the starter motor and it can be made to tick over.
Could it be a short some where or a loose wire, i have looked all over and can't seem to see anything (even removed the fairings and tank to have a look but as yet no luck ____________________ ****NORTHERN IRELAND NEWSFLASH!!**** According to a recent survey, 94% of loyalists said the best sex they ever had was in the shower; the other 6% haven't been to jail yet.*** |

Chances are it was the sidestand cutout switch which is there to stop you riding off with the stand down. This would kill the engine if it was activated. I used to do it all the time by catching the stand with my heel but I have bypassed it now.
They are in a really exposed position and are a common cause of a 'dead bike' when they get grotted up. Give it a good spray with WD40.
Also worth checking your battery terminals are done up tight. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
