hello,

I'm looking for an alarm which i can fit myself (Never done one before) & that's not too hard to do, want one where it goes off when something goes near it?

Whats the best one for lowest price?

Also i have a personal attack alarm & wondering whats the best way to set it up on the bike, the pin is quite stiff to pull out so any tips?

Cheers.

-Chris.

If you just want an alarm for security rather than to please an insurance company, the ones off ebay are a good buy regardless of what anyone says. (by a brand called cheetah i think). I had an on-hire bandit 600 from my insurance company last year since my er5 was written off, the alarm was a "good" brand, can't remeber which but was a proper approved one of the £200 mark. It was absolutely shit, went off for no reason in my locked garage all the time, and even when it had woken me up three times for no reason I couldnt turn it off as it automatically set itself. Yet the best part of it was it wouldnt go off if you actually moved the bike without the keys in, so long as you were careful. In contrast my mate has an alarm/immobiliser off ebay that was £17 i believe. It never goes off except if you, or a filthy thieving chav touch the bike, doesnt drain the battery even if left for months, and had good remote control range and was easy to fit. nuff said really.
