No, this isn't a post about Roger Federer, it's about the great service I received from Top Joint Motorcycles in Walthamstow. I've got a slow puncture on my rear wheel and I phoned Top Joint to see if they could help. I spoke to Alf, the owner who runs the place with his wife, Anni. He suggested I bring the bike down and he'd put this Ultra Seal stuff in, which he said would sort out this and potentially future punctures - total price £50.00. Not bad I thought so I took it down for what should have been a half hour job. So anyway, a few cups of coffee and two hours later this stuff won't work. So Alf comes in from the workshop and says he can't charge me for the job as the Ultra Seal hasn't set properly. I felt a bit bad as, as soon as he said that the stuff began to work, so I offered to pay him for the Ultra Seal that he'd used which he reluctantly accepted on the condition that I come straight back for a refund if the tyre went down. How could I argue? The tyre is still inflated to the same level as when I left his shop so I think the stuff has finally worked. Top Joint specialize in Harley-Davidson bikes and Alf and Anni build custom Harley's to customer specs or sometimes I suppose, they're own - and they do a fantastic job of it too. One negative point though. I felt a bit out of place with my Honda 450 when there were 4 or 5 Harley owners there, with their bikes.

50 quid to just chuck £17.50 (probably even less, as shops buy in bulk) worth of goo into your tyres, and you are pleased? Shocked Shocked Shocked

I just got it done at a local bike shop for £12.50. By the way it was shite, didn't work.

£50 is a rip off.

I didn't pay £50, I just paid for the stuff - £25, which it would now appear is over the odds, but I'm not complaining, he offered me a refund if the stuff didn't work and so far it has.
