restricting/de-restricting a fuel injected bike

How much harder is it to restrict/de-restrict Razz

a fuel injected bike? I remember reading somethig somewhere about it being more difficult to de-restrict an fi I think.

I think on FI bikes they just restrict the amount of throttle movement you have. I cant see how else it would be done to be honest.

On some FI bikes they have electronic restrictors, I think they used/use restrcted cdi units on FI suzuki SV's, but dont quote me on that. Not that unplugging and replacing a CDI unit would be difficult, just expensive. Sad

I'm sure there's a couple of ways of doing it, most logical non mechanical one would be to re map the E.C.U.

Ask yokogeri he's just got his paws on an FI ninja and i think he's de restricting it soon.

FI bikes are restricted in different ways, most I believe have a physical throttle stop on the bar which gives you about 1/2 the throttle movement (dangerous in my opinion), usually combined with the usual plates between the injector manifolds and the intake ports (like on carburettor restrictors).

The other way is to put in a restricted CDI, this is how it's done on the SV650 as we have 2 hire SV's in work which need restricting for some riders and it's just a case of swapping the CDI's over, this is a genuine Suzuki restriction though rather than an FI Internation kit which would probably be throttle stops and inlet blades.
