Had my first ride round the twisties today on my lesson, absolutely loved it...at one point I felt that if i stuck out my knee I may just have scratched my sliders ! (Didn't try though as i didn't think my instructor would be too impressed  )
Anyway it was so brill I just had to tell someone.
As for the thread cornering v acceleration, cornering for me anyday
