 Posted: 20:00 - 03 Apr 2006 Post subject: Caberg 103 - the Aldi version |
 |
|
Our local Aldi still has some of the £35 lids left.
I was having a good look at them this weekend as to my surprise when I tried one on it was a good fit. (My head shape and the fact that I wear glasses make helmets difficult usually).
I noticed it has a gold ACU sticker on the back, and on the box it said that it was sold in other countries as a Caberg 103.
I was thinking that at that price it would at least be worth having as a spare in case anything happens to my "main" one.
Did a google on the Caberg 103 but it all came up in foreign languages so I can't read any of the reviews!
Anyone know much about Cabergs in general, or if the 103 is maybe sold in the UK under another name?
Help me make up my mind! ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

Got my girlfiend to try one today
Noticed that too and was very supprised..
The only fault with it, the strap seemed to have a hair band (yes really) to hold the spare strapage.. i'm guessing they were missed in manufacture and have been sold off uber cheap because of that (or maybe some of the batch had them missing?)
If i'd have had the spare money i'd have had it tbh.. allways worth haveing a spare ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

The caberg website is in italian, english and german. No need for translators, just use the link in my previous post. The 505 looks the mutts. Are there any stockists who have the full range anywhere in the north west?

Would you trust a £35 lid.
I got a free lid at the NEC, i've used it a little, anyway, on reading last weeks ride magazine, apparently in a slow speed crash, the helmet just broke up ie at 30mph, with a slight knock, giving the rider some injuries.
Now, do I wear my Shoei, or my cheap Takachi lid that I got for free, hmmmm let me decide.
I'm honestly thinking of skiping it.
Would you risk aldi condoms? ____________________ I've a twin and a 4.

As said, you can take it on a race track.. look past the price
I'm pretty sure there the price they are because of the minor manufactureing fault (can anyone confirm they are all like it?) or some of the batch are.. often can be down to simple fact they made too many or a company who orded it folded (TK max is stocked this way) ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |
