If you just want an A->B bike, your best of looking at something along the lines of a 4 stroke 125 (something like a CG125).
Have a look at www.begin-motorcycling.co.uk
Oh, and how old are you? |

What kind of distances are involved in your typical journeys?
Basically when I got into biking, I broke the costs down into 3 sections. (I've put in some of the costs, but the rest varies on your choices)
Which is Licence, Clothing, Bike Costs
Bike Costs
Purchase of bike
Insurance
MOT - £23.80
Road Tax - £15/year for a 125cc
Licence Training
Provisional Licence Costs - Currently £38
CBT - Varies with training center
Clothing
Helmet
Gloves
Protective Clothing
Security Devices
As I said you best bet is to find a cheapish 4 stroke 125, to get around on. They often return excellent fuel, can get to around 60mph and would be cheap enough to insure.
Hope this helps[/b] |

Have a think about a 125cc 4 stroke scooter . I have a Piaggio X9 125 and a Honda NSR125 and to be honest the scooter wins hands down for commuting. Cheap to run, more practical and much more comfortable |

Gilera Runnersp 125, quite a big scooter & the best looking, you can pick them up quite cheap & they can hold £9 worth of petrol.
Then just do a days CBT & you're ready to go. |
