Hi,

I was going thru web and got into the website www.usedbikesearch.com. The kind of felt the prices real low. Like a 2005 Honda CBR for some $3000 (never dropped, Mint condition, clear title etc). I emailed the seller and he told me that he met with an accident and became deaf and wanted to sell the bike to pay hospital bills. He suggested that we make transaction thru the website www.securemydeal.com so that we dont have to worry about this "belief" stuff.

Anyone knows how reliable this www.securemydeal.com website is?(it requires Western Union money transfer!!) There are lots of deals like this on usedbikesearch.com website.

I have emaled another guy and he tells me that he can go thru any kind of thrid party secure transaction website but he says he is in UK for a trip and asks me to send money there!!

Can you guys please help me out here and tell me if you have read anything about a possible fraud like these?

I really appreciate your replies.

Steer well clear mate. Western Union has no tracing over the transaction, therefore, it is used by dodgy weirdos to snaggle your cash.

If that is the only payment he can take, then that says something. If he wont take cash on pick up then he is playing games with your cash. You are set to lose it if you go ahead!

Your best bet is local bike magazines, in the UK we have a BikeTrader magazine, I don't know what equivalent you have where you are, but eBay can be a safer bet due to it's ability to trace transactions and funds through paypal.

Good luck, and don't go sending him money! Wink
