I've been trying to save money for a bike now for a while but its impossible being a student as i have too many overheads.

I was just wondering if anyone in my sistuation (student with part time job) has any finance out on a bike.

I would be looking at trying to get £3500 - £4000 and looking to pay back no more than £110 per month.

Is this a realistic situation, sorry but i have no idea about these things.

thanks

suzuki got 0% finance on selected models. £1 deposit and 3 years to pay it back

Read the fine print though, theres always a catch

get a cheaper bike

not sure what kind of bike you want but £1500 can get you a thundercat which is good at most things and is a pretty good bike.

you can get decent basic commuters far cheaper.

if you havnt got a full bike license a DAS will cost you £500, so you might prefer to just get a cbt and get a 125. There is a world of difference between an unrestricted 2 stroke 125 and a 4 stroke 125. A 2 stroke 125 wont be as fast as a full power sports bike but will be pretty close to a big bike commuter.

Most people drop their first bike so spending £4000 on something that is gonna get dropped is not a good idea.

I've got my full DA access.

Its proving really hard for me to save up anything substantial really.

I'm looking for a sports 600. I would prefer a newer, "more reliable" bike

This old chestnut.
If you can't afford to save any money, how can you afford to pay off finance or a loan every month.
And also, running a 160mph bike does cost a little cash. Many broke people on here have found that out the hard way.

if you already have ur full license and want a sports bike, you wont have reliability problems with a thundercat.

you can get a 2001 tt600 for £1500 they handle better but the power delivery isnt as good unless you have them set up on a dyno with a tuneboy

thundercats are good as standard but just arent as agile.
