Hi

Based on the GSXR400 engine, but not sure if any of the GSXR variants had the variable valve timing that was fitted to loads of the Bandits.

By the way, the 400 Bandit was officially imported for a while.

All the best

Keith

Yeah, i looked at my log book and mine was new at first registration. So i think mine is a UK bike.
Tricky little thing to ride after being on a brand new CBF500 for lessons/test etc...
Fun though.

log books arent always correct as i have a 97 model rs125 registered in 2000 that claims to be new at registration on the log book. It has the german styled thin lettering on the side fairing so i suspect my bike is an import.

There's loads of bikes that sit in warehouses or showrooms for quite a long time before being registered, if your bike was manufactured in '97 and registered in 2000 it simply means it spent 3 years in storage somewhere. Not that unusual, though 3 years is probably longer than most.
