Well was about to bring the bike down the path to clean it.

Took the cover off this morning getting ready.

Warmed the bike up as its alot easier to ride it down, set off, crunch Shocked

First it felt well, weird. Looked at the front whell. FUCKING DISC LOCK Evil or Very Mad Mad Evil or Very Mad Mad Crying or Very sad Embarassed

The damage to the bike is scuffed mirror, engine case and the little bobbly bit on the bottom of the foot peg. Oh and a bend in the disc Shocked I rode it up the road to turn around to get on to the path and it doesnt seemed normal, but i was doing about 20mph and braking slowly.

Ahhh im so pissed off Neutral

Attached is a pic of the disc, how bad is it doc? Crying or Very sad

For something as critical as a brake disk, it's really not worth trying to repair it.

Unfortunatley your going to be quite unlikely to find a disk and a set of pads for £40.

Any damage to the caliper?

I have been thinking about getting a disc lock but with the number of people on here having this kind of accident there's no way.

It's exactly the sort of thing I would do as well and can imagine it is particularly annoying as its and accident that is only your fault. I have only just learnt to take the keys out the ignition when I park my bike!

To be honest, their good as long as you remember they've been put on. I've got one with a piece of cord that covers my ignition barrel. So I cannot put my key in the ignition without remembering to remove the disk lock.

No, but on your quest do remember that the disc off any cbr6 from 1999 to date should fit.

How bad is it?

I rode my firestorm with a kink like that in the disc for 3000 miles and I sold it like that too. Pff, it's nothing (typical student attitude).

Doesnt seem to have any damage on the caliper. Dont no what im looking for though Razz

I knew i wouldnt find it all for that sort of money, jus a single disc. My best bet would be ebay or breakers i guess. I shall have a look round if my dad feels its necesary. (ex mechanic)

*sighs*

Everything goes wrong when youve got no money Rolling Eyes

On the plus side though my bikes never been this clean! Shocked

Well ive just got back from a little test ride to the petrol station.

All seems fine so i think just new pads should be ok.

I think tyre pressures may be a bit low though Neutral

I've done it, got a way with just a speedo cable.

Got a new disk lock with an alarm, but the alarm part has stopped
working after 1 week.

Ohh well back to the big chain.

you should tie a bit of cord onto your disc lock as well, and hook it onto your clutch lever or brake lever, its cheaper than buyin a lock with one on it and your less likley to forget about it
