Are there any companies who would allow a learner on track? I know its a long shot, but I figured it's worth a try.

Do all companies require you wear leathers, or will some be OK if you wear textiles?

Lastly, what good circuits are there in the north west? The only one i know of is oulton park.

Nope, it's either full road licence or ACU licence.

You'd get an 'ish' at Ron Haslam who do some course using CBR125s but the money that would cost would be better spent obtaining a licence.

I believe Adam P did a trackday somewhere that didn't require leathers, but as a general rule, they all do.

Please make that clearer.

You need either a category A, or A1 license (some won't let you do it with an A1 (33bhp) license).

Or, you can do it if you have an ACU license.

Personally I would do my test. Costs less than a trackday, and gets more respect. Smile

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I rolled up to an evening event at Donington with some friends with the intention of having a go if they let me sign on. They did and I was in my usual HG riding gear, which is part leather/part textile.

No one stopped me and I had three sessions that evening.

I asked about the same thing before I went to Cadwell and was told it was leathers only. i have bought a set since, but only worn them once.

Trackdays aren't really my thing, although, I will do a few more.

you dont need any type of licence to do trackdays for supermoto anyways Smile

the organiser and owner of superbmotard track days knows people who dont have even CBT's yet if he thinks are capabale of riding he will let them on.

One of the safest trackdays you can go to aswell Smile

also with supermoto trackdays the pro's always turn up which is amazing! such as christian iddon turned up to the last one on his brand spankers sxv 550 Wink

such a better community Very Happy

Thanks for all your help guys and gals! i've spied an advert in mcn for off-road days which look pretty cool, so if i fancy some mud plugging, i'll check them out. Think tarmac will be my first stop tho.

Cheers Thumbs Up
