Currently i am building a track bike. Could probably get it all finished in a few weeks if i got my arse into gear but i can't ever see myself actually using it. Well maybe once or twice a year and going to uni means probably not even that.

I want another bike as i miss them. Used to have scramblers and thinking of getting another one. Question is do i keep both or just keep the scrambler.

I want at least a 250 maybe a cr500 (need to be able to outrun mod police) Only been chased by an army landrover once which was an easy getaway on my yz but apparently they have bikes and confiscate them (especially because its near a horse race track)

I don't think i will be able to get permission to use the land so will need to have some quick wheels plus speed = fun

I was thinking a scrambler would be good for when i come back from uni (i still have all my old gear) i can literally just get straight on it and into the woods. I never used my yz that much when i moved and since sold it really regret not using it as much.

So do i scrap the fzr and get a scrambler go for both (dad wont be pleased) or just keep the fzr. I always regret what i do because im shit at making decisions. Laughing

Also could spend upto about 1500 on a scrambler. Looks like i could get upto a 2001 yz/cr 250 for that.

Not done much since you last came round. Sprayed the wheels but thats about it.

Think its just really cold still and its putting me off. Have 4 days off over the weekend so may be able to get quite a bit done.

Just haven't made much progress and its putting me off. Neutral

Hi

Suspect unless you are seriously good you will not be any quicker at all on a 500 2 stroke than on the 250s, just more likely to fall off.

All the best

Got all the running gear yet? If so I could pop round sometime soon.

You got a loom then? It's not that hard to make your own loom with the right wires and decent soldering iron, especially for a track bike.

Yeh got a loom. Got a wiring diagram of a track loom as well which basically only has the coils, cdi, pickup, alternator and start/stop switch. Thumbs Up

Hopefully the engine should start, r4nger had a go and got the starter motor going and moved the pistons but we didn't get much further than that.
