There are 2 options for your bulbs.
Companies like Philips make blue tint bulbs, which are basically a halogen bulb with a blue-ish look to them. They are slightly brighter and from certain angles, have a blueish look to them. You simply replace the standard bulb with this. Expect to pay £15-£25 from any motorspares shop.
A HID conversion kit is a more complicated affair, but is a true improvement to the quality of the light. It is a blue/white light that is a lot brighter at night. It's a more involved process and should set you back £300-£500.
As regards the oil, just use any from a reputable manufacturer. A 180cc engine is not likely to benefit from super expensive oil anyway. Something about £15-£20 per 4L will be more than adaquate. Pop into your local bike shop and see what they recommend. |

people like the blue bulbs as they give the HID effect for a fraction of the cost, but blue bulbs actually put out less light due to the blue coating. some good info here:
https://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/blue/bad/bad.html
i found the best bulb for my GPZ500 was the Osram Silverstar H4. Doesn't give a blue effect, but puts out lots more bright white light than a normal bulb and more importantly projects it further so you can see possible hazards and react quicker.
I bought my Silverstars from https://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/
£ 18.45 for a pack of two. I have had them in for almost 2 years and haven't had a failure yet.
As for oil, I use good old Halfords 10w40 fully synthetic motorcycle oil. Does the job |

As above, dont go for the "xenon" bulbs, they arent any brighter than normal. I got a Phillips H4 Vision Plus from M&P last year for my bike and I now believe the "50% more light" claim. Made a huge difference to a poxy 10 yr old headlight.
Cheers, Alfie ____________________ Ted: "These are small; the ones out there are far away."
