I've only noticed it after coming back on my tour of the south coast that my Pass light switch does not cause my beam to flash onto high-beam, and also that when i switch onto High beam, the bulbs turn off.

I've checked the fuses and all i can say is that they're intact. It's fine for the time being because it doesn't get dark until much later but is there any other way to diagnose such problems. I doubt replacing the bulbs will work as they're fine at dipped beam.

The bike's a ZXR250 so controls will be similar to other ZXR's. Any help will be much appreciated.

you say the fuse is okay, but are the contacts all clean?

failing that - do you know for certain that the high beam fillaments in the bulbs arent banjaxed? I used to work for a motorfactors and once had a lady comein with a *shudders* volvo that had both its dipped beams fail simultaneously! Could be something that simple!

Quite possible that both the high beam filaments could have gone, so I'd check this first.

I'd have a quick check of the obvious connections while you're there.
Next step would probably be to get the switch gear apart and poke about with a multimeter.

As above. Get a multimeter, check the bulbs. If the main beam filaments are good, then you've got to start tracing the connection and find out whereabouts you have +12v.
