'Ullo

I'll be leaving/graduating (Laughing) from Uni in 2 months time or so and it suddenly dawned on me that I better bleedin' get a new email before I get locked out of it.

I don't want to use a hotmail/yahoo job and don't have any with my current ISP (I probably do but the ISP will be changed anyway within 4 months)

Looking to set it up with outlook so I can categorize and save all my emails. This will be my main email, for ebay, forums, perhaps work related, all family related emails, everything.

Can anyone recommend a company to me so I can get one? Long standing company would be good so it doesn't go bust in a couple of months time!!

Obviously I'll have to pay which fine for me so long as I can do what I like with it.

Cheers

Greg Thumbs Up

Hotmail charge to use Outlook with their accounts now. Rolling Eyes If I'm going to have a Hotmail account, there's no way in hell I'm paying for it.

I want a semi professional sounding one, none of this yahoo/hotmail/gmail stuff.

I also require that no external programs other than outlook to be running to be able to access the email (like gmail, you have to have web2pop or some pop3 client installed for that).

Buy your own domain name and a hosting packing for a site which includes email.
www.a4dableweb.net : I use them for my domains and they're very good.
Alternatively get a mail.uk2.net account and just buy a domain name pointing to them. Works well for my @psychofly.co.uk domain. Been doing it for years now.

As above really get your own domain, I have @gsxf.co.uk, and a friend runs a mail server so I run it off that.

Domains are quite cheap these days, I buy from 123-reg.com, think my last one cost something like £3.99. Smile

If you were using it before a certain date then it's free.

If you tried to start using it through pop now, then it won't be free.

Not for me it isn't, and I send all my media work out through it. Using Gmail as the mail client.

Just buy your own domain as has been said before and push it through gmail, no one will be any the wiser.

+1 for that. It's exactly what I do through my BT Yahoo account.

I have my own domain name and pay for an IMAP account from Fusemail. That lets me access and store all of my email so I can access it equally well from home and work, both using Outlook.
