I'm thinking of getting a pair of Draggin Camo Combats.

Sick of feeling trussed up in leathers and crinkling around in textiles.

Has anyone tried them and if so, whats the verdict??

I own a pair and so does Sparks,

If you ask me the comfy and easier to get around, although Sparks's ripped (can remeber how). They are pretty good.

There not that expensive either.

£82.50 with free knox armour and free p&p, is the best price I can come up with at the moment.

I've fallen off a few times in them and didnt hurt myself (i dont have armour in mine either), but wasnt going amazingly fast. Yes I have ripped them, the worst rip is where they kept catching on a bolt by my right rear set but I've sorted that now so it shouldn't happen again.. they also ripped when I went sliding down the road doing silly things..

I have a pair, and they seem pretty cool. Cotton feels nice on them.

The guy at the shop said the knee armour was a waste of time as it just velcro's in so i didn't bother with that. Got the hip armour tho. Thumbs Up

Quite a few stores on EBay selling them at that (or similar) prices including delivery/armour.

Try these (I just ordered some cargo pants from the first):

Forget that US site, it's crap. Use the UK or Australian websites instead.

I've always been tempted by them but didn't like the fact that you can't zip them into your jacket, so in the event of a crash your jacket could ride up your back (or your trousers down your arse!).

Never mind that my current bike jacket and trousers are incompatible... Rolling Eyes

I have two pairs the cargo stile and the zip offs I find them comfortable and so much easier to get on with than leather or textiles once the weather heats up.

I can’t vouch for there protection never having an off myself but I can say my brother used a pair for his around the world trip of 18 months on the bike and is still using them now 2 years after getting home.

P.S. I have to agree Sparks a nutter

how did the pants hold up to that treatment and did he get any friction burns doing that?

Even if it just velcros in, you can save your knee a lot of pain if you have a lowspeed crash and land on your knee.

Knee armour works Thumbs Up

Same here

I also have big legs from carrying my 110kg about and have yet to find pants with enough room for my knees and armour top that off at 6’2 with long legs the armour is never in the right place to be comfortable even if it would fit.

I would prefer armour but will just have to settle for a compromise of comfort over protection. As I know I will be more likely to have an accident if my minds on how uncomfortable I am and not on my riding.

I find the waist on the Draggin ones a bit high..

other brands to check out are Giali and J&S, but especially Hood (based in Norwich iirc)

I'm going to Hood next time. When I was looking for the combats, I called Hood who only did cammo and black (but did stone coloured jeans) and asked if they did stone coloured cargo/combat style pants.. he said they didn't, went away and came back and apologised that they didn't have any stone coloured fabric left, otherwise he could have got me a pair made up.. if you visit the hood factory, I believe they will customise them to fit.
