Sorry to bring up another insurance thread.

Been getting some quotes to get insured on the zzr. Getting about 7-800 tpo which seems pretty good. Now as i only want insurance for 3 months i need like a pay as you go or monthly insurance policy so i can cancel it after 3 months.

The only company i can find that does this is ebike insurance. They are quoting £105 a month. Seems quite a bit more, can i haggle with something like that? Nothing really to compare it against because its pay as you go. Confused

If you speak to someone at the insurance company in high enough authority then you can definatly haggle! Everyone has their price and profit margins!

A quick tip for some of you: Register online to become a priest, get ordanied online from some new American Church and as long as it's legal, you can tell the insurance companies that you are Father such-and-such. This usually brings the price down somewhat! Just don't go lieing to them and if you do use this method, make fully sure you are legaly allowed to be entitled as Father or Priest! I'm going to accept no responsibility if you do this and it goes wrong for some reason!

Another legit thing to consider: You will always pay more for Pay-As-You-Go monthly insurance, as they expect you don't want to be covered for a whole year, but still want the same amount of money out of you! They also still consider you the same risk and would most probably not want to shift on price!

I personally think you would be much better takingout a yearly restricted mileage policy and then make sure you sign up to a monthly payment option. If you are basically not wanting to pay to insure a bike over Winter, then you cancel the insurance in say October and start a new yearly policy next March, then do the same.

You'll never build NCB whether you get PAYG insurance or cancel yearly policies before they hit full term!

You can cancel most policies for a refund part way through (as long as you haven't claimed) but unfortunately you won't get it back pro-rata (cancelling after 3 months you might get 6 months worth of premiums back).

Ebikeinsurance offer "pay as you go" policies as you've pointed out.

Norwich Union have a "pay as you drive" for cars - give them a ring and see if they offer the same for bikes.

RAC say they offer "flexible" cover. Perhaps worth giving them a ring too.
