I once rode 180 miles on my old KR1S, wouldn't do it again though!!

You'll suffer a bit as they aren't very comfortable. But as long as its in good nick you should make it ok.

I think a decent RS250 should be knocking on the door of 140mph if i remember correctly

You can do miles on any bike at all,it's just some do it better than others.

160 miles on an RS250 will be easy.

I have done over 600 miles per day on a sportsbike.

The roads you choose will determine how enjoyable the trip is,but if the bike is in sound condition, there isn't a problem.

Hi, an rs250 I had topped out around 130ish, I didn't find it too uncomfortable so you should be ok to ride that far, however the pillion seat is something different, I pagged a mate once for a few miles and he had arse pains for days! Laughing Dan

I had a sprint damper on mine, but when i was really tanking it on the rough roads it still slapped every now and again. I spent a year tinkering with the suspension before it scares the sh*t out of me and i sold it and bought a ZXR750 H2

if you have a car license, you could hire a van for £50

another reason to use the van is that an rs250 does about 20mpg

If you know you are gonna buy the rs250 and ride it home, take out insurance with breakdown cover the day before, as if you take it out on the day, breakdown cover will only become active 24 hours later.

Have you checked the prices of RS250's on ebay recently, because they seem to be fetching silly money now

I'd recommend taking the twisties (which I assume you already are) because it's not fun being sat on A roads and motorways for a long time, and when your in the twisties you have more chance to move around the bike and stop yourself stiffening up. When I went to the BMF we did all the backroads and it was about a 3 hour ride, but I was fine. On the way back on the motorways after an hour or so my legs and wrists were killing me.

I think you'll be lucky to pick up one that isn't shagged for that kind of money.

I rode 600km on my NSR125 in a day.

I had to fill up with 2stroke and lots of petrol, my ass hurt like hell and my wrists were agony.. but I did it.

It's possible, 100odd miles isn't alot really but it wasnt comfy or pleasurable on the NSR

How long did it take you to ride 600Km, like 7 hours?

Oh have you or your ass been to hell before Twisted Evil , just curious as you liken the hurting to that of hell Mr. Green

Isn't it dangerous to sit on a pillow or a loose object? Perhaps frequent stops + ass massages Laughing may prevent ass hurting like hell Twisted Evil

Or alternatively underwear with foam lining Embarassed Mr. Green

Erm, I did one 440 mile trip in a day on my 89' RGV250, and use to do several 150-200 mile rideouts on it per week during one summer.

One 160 mile trip is piss.
