Need help!!!!!!

I started my bike up (zxr400), it started fine etc, i unlokced it and wheeled it out the garage, about 30 seconds later it cut out.
I now have no electrics, even the lights that come on the dashboard when the ignition is turned on dont appear, theres absolutly nothing that works.

The bike has been working perfectly since and even yesterday afternoon it was ok.
Theres plenty of petrol in it.

Any ideas????

Fuse gone, clutch/prop stand switch, turning the bars has pulled the connector block for the ignition switch apart, battery cable loose - could be any of them.

Time to start poking about Thumbs Up

Just been to check it over and eventually found the main 30amp fuse was blown. I replaced it and everything worked ok, and it started up fine.
After 10-15 minutes of the bike running ok i moved it into the garage but accidentally stalled it. Upon re-starting, the fuse has blown again meaning i have no electrics.

Is there a reason why the main fuse is blowing???

shorting out, is either the fuse blows or your bikes wires melt, either take it to a garage or check all the wires for a stripped one or snapped ect

Sounds like one of the wires has chafed against the frame and its made a hole on the insulation. When you stalled it the engine must have caused enough movement to make the wire touch the frame and blow the fuse. Its a pig of a job but you are going to have to look at all the main feeds in the loom that are close to the frame/or any other earthed object. Crying or Very sad

its an easy problem to fix tho, better then blowing the engine ect

I had a similar problem years ago, only found it in the dark by waggling the bars and noticing the spark when it earthed against the frame.

Favourite points are where the wiring goes round the headstock/fairing mount and if the loom comes through a hole in the frame under the tank.
