I am trying to create a worksheet that will simplify the creation of WOC'S (Weekly Operating Controls).
I have set up all the basic formula's but now want to save it as a more idiot proof file.
aims are
1. lock all data cells that require no input, the only cells requireing editing are yellow
2. hide the excell grid to make it more easily visible
3. if poss I want to set the sheet to open with as little excell toolbars available as is possible
basically I just want to clean it up to make it less scary to non pc people.
cheers peeps

What does "Expenses Mtd" mean?
If you explain some of the stuff you need to me I can organise the data more effectively, you have things placed randomly which will cause confusion in itself
I don't understand Labour Costs... Is this how much it's costing you to work on things? |

expenses are based on a monthly budget worked out annually
expenses mtd is expense month to date
labour cost is wages relating to salarys an techy bonus which are affected by labour sales
expenses are effectivly the cost of opening the front doors whilst all other costs are cost of sale so are inproportion to sold units ____________________ https://domharnessphotography.webs.com |

Not sure whether it's just me but in the spreadsheets Toby has posted I am still able to modify the cells that contain formulae e.t.c
Unfortunately the version of the spreadsheet I have modified now weighs in at over 1 meg in size so I have uploaded it to my own site and you can download it here - right click and save target as please.
You should get asked for a password if you try an edit any of the non-yellow cells although I'm not sure whether this will work for toby in open office but be interesting to find out.
I have removed most of the empty cells from the spread sheet and the grid lines have been removed.
Hope that helps.

labour cost is also forecast in budget so for example might be set at 22k for month hence formula divides this by days in month x days gone. ____________________ https://domharnessphotography.webs.com |

Right, have updated Toby's excel spreadsheet to require a password if editing the non yellow squares.
You can find it here.
Hope that helps, time to do some work now . |

well this is what I ended up with which is a damn good job, thanks fella's
even added anothe formula for forcast month end profit
all goals reached
it looks clean
it's idiot proof ( no one can fook about with any cells except red ones)
tabbing between data input cells woks a treat
and above all my superior is looking at using it across all our service depts (over 40)
WELL DONE ____________________ https://domharnessphotography.webs.com |

Sorry, did I misunderstand what you wanted? I thought you only wanted users to be able to change the yellow squares but in your attachement I can change red ones aswell :S ? |
