the hornet's tank range isn't that good, but it's a revvy bike and likes to eb thrashed....sensible riding can increase it alot. Also, bikes from '03 onwards have a larger tank (17 litres intead of 16).
I can get 110ish before reserve during normal weekly riding.
I like the cbf600, it looks like a good sensible bike (alos looks alot nicer styled in the flesh than in pictures) and the screen would definately be useful for motorways.... but its way down on power compared to the hornet so I can't see it being as much fun. I think the hornet makes a better all rounder in some ways because of that, it has enough power to be a laugh at weekends yet its still got all the practicality. You might want to invest in a fly screen if you do alot of motorway miles mind
cbf600- sensible bike, probably slightly more economical and more comfy over distances.
hornet- sensible bike, but more of a laugh when you want it to be. ____________________ "he who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man"- Dr. Johnson |

Hi
Think the range thing comes down to the individual. For me a 90 mile range is pretty useless (what the Bimota has, but that isn't used for many journies). Short tank range means less choice of when to stop, and for me commuting a 90 mile tank range means filling up daily (or filling up in the morning every other tank, making me more late).
The CBF has an adjustable seat. Means it can have a lower seat height than the Hornet, or a higher seat height (takes a few minutes with an allen key). It has a fairing to keep you dry (ish). ABS is a pretty cheap option. If you want a sensible bike then it should be pretty perfect.
However, suspect I might find the CBF a bit boring in its power delivery, etc.
All the best
