I have a 1999 NSR125R, UK bike.
18k miles,
Derestricted 1700 miles ago,
no rebuild, new rings etc. (ever)

If i plan on keeping the bike another year (probably 10k miles) will i need a rebuild in that time? (if i will, i want to get it done before summer)
EDIT: and is there any major problems that may arise that i should know about, shocks etc?

I also plan to give it a service (oil, plug etc) and generally clean everything up.

My questions are:
What (roughly) will be the cost of the rebuild, and is it worth it, or shall i get another bike?

according to honda recommandations the schedule of main maintenance is :
- de-carbonization every 7500 miles which needs top end off and seals, gasket replacement
- 7500 only the rings (150miles running in) £50ish
- 15000 piston , pin, bearing , clips to be replace (200 running in) £80ish
- 22500 barrel+piston kit , pin,bearing,clips £160ish (350-400 miles running in)
about shock it's random but mine has 16000 miles and is still in good condition , so are the forks
the only weakness of this bike is the gearbox especially the 2nd gear so keep always the clutch in good condition and adjustment when passing up from 1rst to 2nd , the other gears can be passed without problem
