After my Dad said he saw a Camel Yamaha in the window of a local dealer I thought I would have a look, so on my journey to work yesterday morning I passed by said window and sure enough there was yellow Camel R6 with their blue logo on the side.

I couldn't find any details on Yamaha's web sites.

I had a closer look this morning, but they have moved it from the window to a show stand further back. I got a picture, but I only had my camera phone so don't know what it will come out like.

From having a longer look today, and I could only see the right hand side, it looks like a special Rossi championship edition. It had a seat cowl with a Rossi style caricature on the part that faces your bum, it had a number 7 on the fuel tank, I guess 7 championships, the screen had ROSSI on the side with another small caricature, the lower side fairing had some graphics on it including Motul and Michelin, so I guess it has Michelin tyres as stock like the 2006 R1 AE, and the wheels had yellow rim tape.

Basically it's a 2006 R6 replica of Rossi's 2006 M1.

After looking at it for longer I really like it, it looks stunning.

I'll get the picture off my phone tonight.

CMC at Calow, Chesterfield by any chance?

I saw one in the window there, awesome! I think they painted it up locally!

It's in George White in Swindon.

The grpahics are slightly different to those CMC ones and the Swindon one has Rossi caricatures on it and a number 7 on the tank.

Just spoke to George White Swindon and they have had it done themselves by Racepaint UK. They have five and are £7999.

Hmmm sounds good to me! I think all it needs is some decent rearsets, headlight covers and a nice exhaust can!

Just a quick thought for some of you who might consider buying one of these:

If Rossi continues racing next season and isn't sponsored by Camel, then your bike may devalue more than a stock R6. It might be wise to sell them before the new seasons colours are released.

However, if he retires or moves to F1, then it might hold some value!

Just a thought!

Pity the Camel logo on the side fairings is missing to much for my tastes.

I took some pictures of the Swindon one at the weekend with my phone's camera, not the best, but do the job:

The finish is quality, all the graphics and advertising are painted and the only thing I think is stickers is the screen graphics, but I didn't check those.

camel.... me thinks it suit the bike considering it's as about as pretty as a camel Laughing

damn ugly bike,

2005 r6 in black, was sooo much nicer than the new ones, though the race rep does distract the eyes from the uglyness of the bike.

I was offered a test ride of one of these in Blue on Saturday by the MD of the dealership. The bloke was trying to convince me that he's had plenty of 1000cc bikes in px. I'd have taken it for a spin if I'd had the counterpart of my license with me, might go back at the weekend. It would be interesting to compare a new 600 to the Blade after riding litre bikes for a few years. I've also owned an 01 R6 in the past, be good to take a new one for a spin see how it's progressed. Can't see me shifting from the Blade though to be honest, especially to something in that yellow scheme above. Shocked

not a fan of that to be honest Thumbs Down but then again I've never liked race replica paint jobs.... there's nothing worse than seeing the bike a few years on, they don't age well at all.
