Right, so after some very dodgy beginners' mechanics tonight, I have a small problem which will be a massive inconvenience. Basically, I was larking around inside the bike, took the tank off, took the carb cover off and had a peek, then put it all back together, not having accomplished by original goal of checking the spark plugs. Rolling Eyes

When it was back together, the battery was flat (possibly due to the alarm arming and rearming every time I took the keys out of the ignition), so I charged it with jump leads from the car.

Now, I find the headlight has no dipped beam, only the very dim beam and full beam, and the rear light doesn't work, only the brake light. I checked the fuse box, they're all fine.

Any ideas? Confused

Checked the bulbs? Were the lights on when u hooked up the car to jump start it?

You could have burnt the filaments through on all the bulbs? possibly. I did this with one of my rear lights (always blew when i put one in) till i charged the battery, off the bike and it was fine (random)

Possibly, the lights were on when I jump started it. Question

It's way too dark to check now, but I'll look tomorrow morning. Cheers Thumbs Up
