After reading Itchy's post it got me thinking.

Does any of you get pain from old injurys like broken bones or bike accidents on crappy, cold miserable days?

Im only asking as all over winter my elbow and ribs had a dull ache from my bike accident last year.

As the weather has been slowly getting warmer i haven't noticed the pain as much, but i had today and yesterday off work and thought 'great i can hoon around on my bike' but both days i have got up in a lot of pain.

My elbow feels more achy and stiff so not a problem but my ribs feel really painful.

So does anyone else get this or just me?

Am i gonna be like one of those old women that can tell when its gonna rain because there knees hurt?

My right shoulder and hip will ache in winter, and worst of all my right big toe will randomly dislocate itself.

Dodgy fingers and thumbs, collarbone and ankle, all bike accidents and all much worse in cold weather - I can't predict when it's going to rain yet though. Try taking Glocosamine it seems to help me.

Im worried about my foot causing me problems.

Sometimes my bones and muscles just ache for no reason, pretty sure it isn't bike related though.

sometimes my leg gets some pains.
I broke it during a motorbike accident. It broke in 2 places and the bone stuck out of my leg Sick had to have a metal plate put in.

Its ok now though apart from the odd pain Thumbs Up

My left shoulder aches like mad after any more than about 15 minutes on the bike. It aches constantly anyway, it's just heightened whenever I've been out on the bike. I'm only 23 and I've got this to deal with the rest of my life, Rolling Eyes. Even with all my physio it's made no real difference, it's just something I have to get on with. I'm pretty used to it aching now anyway, it's just I notice it a lot when I get back from a ride.

Yep. My left wrist (whiuch I broke in a comedy sidecar accident) can get pretty achy in cold, damp weather. Have to have the right type of handlebars on my bike or it can get pretty sore using the clutch on long journeys.

I get achy joints in rubbish weather, I take glucosamine and chrodroitin tablets daily, they help alot.

I still click and crunch but atleast I don't ache and my joints don't get inflamed.

My right knee has had a fairly minor, but long term problem since a crash some years ago - feels like there's something in there moving about that shouldn't be Sick

It can be fine for days or even weeks, but if I inadvertantly bang it, it can be sore for 2 or 3 days. It also seems to be causing me less problems since the weather started to improve Rolling Eyes

My ribs hurt like hell, as if I just broke them all over again, for a few moments every so often in damp cold weather. Broke them 13 years ago

And, non bike related. I was playing football one winters night on astroturf, and hadn't warmed up. Was sprinting after a fast ball, and pulled something in my ankle, about 15 years ago. It still twinges on cold days. Evil or Very Mad

My right wrist aches when on long runs, and is much worse when it is cold. I broke that almost two years ago and still occasionally get twinges when I put weight on it. The second knuckle of my left index finger aches whenever it gets cold since I sliced it open while sharpening a knife - it's swollen and looks somewhat life an arthritic joint (maybe it is Neutral ).

Nope in my time I have done quite a lot of damage to myself (most simple brakes thankfully) yet none of it aces in the cold or wet.

In my time I have broken most of my ribs and ankle both arms one twice my neck scull and lots of fingers and toes dislocated my ankle and knee.

All I can say is I am lucky it all mended well.

Oddly the only thing that aces due to the weather would be my knee and that only down to stupid amounts of time on the bike I spend most weekend when warm and sunny.
