I was reading MrZ's garmin I e review which incidentally has gone up in price to £140, and though nice then I thought hold on its just a GPS system , for a bit more say £200-£250 I could buy a PDA and one of those mini PCMIA cards to slot into it to turn it into a GPS system as needed rather than have just a GPS system.

Would anybody care to suggest a good PDA with a decent PCMIA GPS card which can be uploaded with er ' points of interest'?

Thanks.

Try and get a GPS that is Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) enabled. This will then utilise the free Differential GPS (DGPS) correction signals transmitted by the U.S. Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) and/or European Geostationary Navigation Overlay System (EGNOS) satellite constellations, and potentially increase its accuracy from between 7m and 15m, to sub-metre. This obviously depends on the environment in which its being used though.

Go for Dell Axim X51v and get a Bluetooth GPS module. You can also use something like ministumbler to find and plot wireless access points.
