ok well i'm going to do a DIY job on a bicycle speedo as the cable i brought for my cagiva planet one today was 4 inches to short so have ordered a new one.

the sppedo i am looking to get is this one

argos bit

ok but i will need to extend the wiring as i am going to read it off the back wheel.

so i am asking what kinda cable will i need or has anyone got a better way of doing this.

cheers

Yeah, mount it to the front wheel...

Just ignore its reading when your popping wheelies.

Yeah they normally mount to the spokes, but all you have to do is mount a magnet (or that magnet) to your rim somehow. Probably using superglue Thumbs Up

And the wheelies - If its mounted to your front wheel, and your front wheel is in the air - then your not going to get a reliable reading are you? Laughing

it wont be very accurate, because i think the lowest setting is something like a 19" wheel. so youll have to set it to that, then work out how far in to mount it. its a little tricky, but the one we had, we managed to get it roughly accurate to about 45.

why do you need one if you have a speedo cable on order? Just wait? Get your ma or pa to drive at 30 and 60 and remember where the revs are in different gears?

I always use the 5 function halfrauds speedo for a fiver.

you just need a magnet to put on your wheel, I usually found you could araldit the supplied magnet into the wheel somewhere, then put the sensor on the slider somewhere.

perfectly accurate for all legal speeds i found.
