I´ve been reading the web pages of these two companies and looking at lock which are approved by them and I don´t see the difference between them, is there any? Is any of them more important than the other?better?and does it have anything to do with insurance companies?

Thatcham is the more important, as it is what insurers use to determine how good your lock is.
