That bike is insane.

Needs to sort something out about wheelying it everywhere, doesnt look possible to just floor it without the wheel coming up.

Yup it is!

That boy racer car does allright keeping up, but i think the R1 didnt go flat out at any point, and its gearing is clearly far too short for that wheel base!

The R1 only hit 290, i mean c'mon! I've hit 284 on a 600RR with a tail wind!

This is why I wouldnt have a turbo bike, he couldnt even put the power down until 6th. In a quarter mile that sp1 may have won.

Thats because most turbo conversions on bikes are crude bolt it on and hope for the best jobs. If it was done properly with decent aftermarket management you could modulate the boost pressure all through the rev range to keep the wheel just on the brink of lifting.

That's just too much power to be enjoyable, in my opinion. Notice how he's shifting up at 8k every time, just to keep the front end down.

I didn't like the way that the engine doesn't start "screaming" until he's right at the redline, which means silly speeds even in first gear. What's the point in having a fast bike if you can't actually open it up whenever you feel like?

I think I'd rather stick with a low powered revvy bike, where you pull back the throttle and the engine goes bezerk, and you can go through the gears with the rev needle glued to the redline. Far more fun than hoisting the front wheel whenever you dare touch the throttle.

If only he'd put a smaller turbo on with lower boost pressure, he'd had the power but it would be smooth and from about 3000rpm rather than 7500rpm. He could always adjust the actuator to get more boost if he wanted.

That was awesome though..... Shocked

If he stretched the swingarm and adjusted the gearing he could probably keep the boost.
