So Birmingham go down
And West Bromwich go down
And to top it all of Rooney goes down.

https://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2006/4957970.stm

Looks like the World cup will be a wash out for England now. Sad

Watching MOTD right now and they are not sure Owen will be sharp enough either. He was complaining to his physio after the match yesterday. Looks like England have a striker dilemma.

You want to know the two best things about the World Cup being on this summer?

There will be lots of girls bored because their fellas are too busy eating, sleeping, drinking and breathing football.

And it means there will be prolonged periods when there's fuck all on the roads, so great for biking.

Other than that, I really couldn't give a stuff. Cool Wink

Hmmmm.

Maybe this is an oppurtunity for some new, young striker to prove they are worth their salt.

Didnt Beckham have some magical treatment when he broke his metatarsal-they estimate Rooney will be out for 6 weeks- which means he'll miss match 1. Maybe he'll be back for the rest....

They reckon 6 weeks, but owen has been out for about 12 and ashley cole hasnt played for a couple of months. I think they both have metatarsal injuries too, so i think we will be lucky to see rooney in action.

We have some of the best players in the world but for some reason when we play international games we are just an average team.

Is that the game a little like rugby, but with the wrong shaped ball and mostly followed by illiterate thugs?

Apparently he is going to live in an 8x6 oxygen tent so the pure oxygen will allow red blood cells to develop quicker and therefore in turn make his foot heal ready for maybe the 3rd/4th match.

Wrong shaped ball? Balls should be spherical.

Baseball ball, cricket ball, basketball ball, golf ball, tennis ball, squash ball.

Why do you guys even call it a ball? Its an egg, a rugby egg. Laughing

Well, that's certainly seven boring games to add to football - there's a trend forming here!

So that intellectually-challenged football fans have a fair chance of understanding what's going on, in between stabbing other fans and joining in the riots.
