what can i do to increase the pick up of MT5 ?

I am having a MT5, in the 1st gear the pick up is less when running on 3rd it starts to get a good pick up after a while. Is this the nature of MT5 bikes what can i do to increase the pick up? Pls help coz i have not used any MT5s before.
