Hi all,

I've just got a new bike, a T reg Bandit 600 (you can see me with my new toy here if you like). One problem I'm having with it is that I'm not entirely sure how fast I'm going!

It's an import you see, and the clock's in km/h. I've so far remembered that 50km/h is 30mph, which is all I need to get to work. But I've been asking in all the local bike shops if they have a sticker I can stick over my speedo so it tells me mph at a glance and nobody's had one. Now, I know you can get them, but I have no idea where to look online.

So does anybody know where I can pick up a km/h to mph speedo conversion sticker for a 600 Bandit?

Cheers for any help,

Rach

Get a motrax converter, then your speedo will run in mph.

Oooh that's a clever bit of kit. Can't quite afford it this month tho, might pick one up after payday.

Anyone ever used one? Are they easy to fit? Looked pretty simple to me tbh.

I have the same problem with mine! The guy I bought it off put stickers on there but he put the 30mph one on the 60kph one Laughing. Tool.

Take a look here, I can't quite afford one yet.

Aha, nice one Seph. I haven't mastered the M&P website yet, I have no idea where I'm looking. Must order a catalogue. Haha shame yer stickers are wrong, at least I don't have any misleading information on my speedo!

I've seen a set of mph Bandit clocks on ebay for the same price as the more expensive speedo converters (speedo healer), so I'm considering bidding on those and fitting them instead. Only problem would be the mileage readout, which is more than the km readout on my bike, but a photograph or two to prove the old reading would be sufficient for that surely? Could I "fiddle" the clocks to read the correct mileage, or even just zero them so it's easier to count?

The guy I bought my bike off didn't change it at all. So how he got it through MOT I'll never know, apparently you have to have MPH clocks to get through it.

Piece of piss to fit, just make sure you get the correct one (top or bottom of cable).

The problem with stickers is at night you cant see your speed as the lights on the clocks won't light them up. I used Tippex on the glass. Put a line at 30, 40,60,70 and 100 then you know roughly your speed and if you make the line ling enough to cover the needle you can see it in the dark too. Alto Tippex is easy and quick to get off the glass.

Well if that's the case I had a dodgy MOT'er as I passed with a non working speedo!

I have the speedo overlay on mine, although the speedo doesn't actually work...

Your avatar is against the rules, prepare for penetration!

Speedo isn't tested in an MOT, doesn't mean that it's legal if it doesn't work though.

Yes they are see through but they are above the light in the speedo, that makes them very hard to see at night. I had a few times I wasnt sure how fast I was going past speed scameras. Confused

I need one of those as my speedo only reads up to 180kph though the bike should theoretically do 130 something Confused So christ knows how fast its going after that

Do those converters work accurately?

Yeah I forgot to mention that, it's near impossible to see it at night.
