Hi all,
I've just got an unfaired 600 Bandit and the clock is in km/h rather than mph because it's a parallel import. I've been looking at ways to make it read in mph, and I've come up with 3 ways:
a) stick a sticker over the clock
b) get a speedo converter
c) replace the clock
Option a is the cheapest, however placing the sticker isn't as easy as it seems, also I can't seem to find anywhere that will sell me one at the moment.
Option b was new to me this morning. Clever bit of kit that changes km/h into mph and makes your speedo display this. £30 - £60 depending on make (I've heard some Motrax stuff can be a bit rough around the edges so I'd probably go for a Speedo Healer).
Option c seems daunting. I've seen some clocks on ebay I could pick up for the same price as the Speedo Healer. It's the whole head unit, so speedo, rev counter and light bank (neutral light, indicator lights, etc). But I have no idea how to fit it.
Is it easy to replace the clocks on a bandit? Would they need calibrating? How do I deal with the mileometer readout? The one I'm looking at reads more miles than my bike has done kilometers, can I reset the reading to the mileage of my bike? Is this easy? Is it legal?
Thanks for any help anyone can offer me,
