I've used some touch up paint on a small chip on my tank. I ordered the same colour code as for my bike, but it's a slightly different shade, and fairly noticeable. I haven't yet laquered it though, and was wondering whether that was the reason why the colour looked off. Anyone had any experience with this?

Maybe the paint of your tank has faded?

Sorry, forgot to say, the new colour is the lighter shade.

Touch up paint is really obvious when its done, you can never just touch it up and it look ok.

Shit. It needed doing though because rust had started to form. If I'd have left it, it could have taken more paint with it.

There are people out there that specialise in touching up stone chops on cars, they even do it on your drive, and they guarantee it will be unoticable. Ever thought of finding one of these geezers to have a look at it?
